Cast shot from the new play Shadows in the Nooks: Spirited Women of Canadian Theatre, conceived and produced by Nicole Arends and Kristine Greenaway. The show is on in Toronto, October 8-9, 2024, and again February 10th-14th, 2025. The show honours some (not all) of the pioneering women of 20th-century Canadian theatre, focusing on those who have passed away in hopes of preserving public memory of their contributions. Find out more about playwrights, actors, directors, costume designers, theatre builders, casting directors, educators, and critics such as Dora Mavor Moore, Jackie Burroughs, Susan Douglas Rubes, Sharon Pollock, Linda Griffiths, Dora Wasserman, Diane Polley, Betty Mitchell, Audrey Ashley, Patricia Joudry, La Bolduc, Deanne Taylor, and Gina Wilkinson. I wrote the monologue for Linda Griffiths (and ended up getting cast as her, which was not my intention. Seriously. There may be more auditions for the February show.)
